VAAL TRIANGLE - The Vaal Dam has maintained a steady level for nearly a month but could reach a new mark this week. Latest reports indicate the dam stands at 63.34%, reaching its highest level since January. This recovery is attributed to heavy regional rainfall and strategic water management. The Grootdraai Dam’s release of additional water in January has also contributed to the increase. Meanwhile, the weather service says disruptive rain can be expected across the central and eastern regions of the country until Wednesday. The rainfall accumulation is expected to be in the region of 20 to 50 millimetres. Saws advised motorists and pedestrians to be extra cautious where roads are slippery and visibility is affected.
