Two Vereeniging undertakers in court for fraud.

VEREENIGING - The case of two undertakers who were arrested for fraud at Ennerdale Home Affairs has been postponed by the Lenasia Magistrates Court, south of Joburg on Monday, 18 December. The matter was moved to 31 January 2024 for further investigation. Daily Sun reports two undertakers, a 38-year-old woman and 52-year-old man were arrested on Wednesday, 13 December at the Department of Home Affairs in Ennerdale in the Vaal Triangle after their striker was arrested with forged documents while trying to obtain death certificates to claim insurance money. The two undertakers were granted R5,000 bail each and were warned not to interfere with witnesses and to avail themselves for the next court sitting. According to a source that spoke to Daily Sun, the two has been involved in a scam of forging death certificates at the Home Affairs offices in Vereeniging in order to claim insurance money. The two undertakers face fraud charges and will appear again in court on 31 January 2024.
