The Sebokeng SAPS investigates concealment of birth after gruesome discovery

SEBOKENG - The Sebokeng SAPS is investigating a case of concealment of birth following a chilling discovery made on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Zone 10 Extension 3. Rea Gazette reports, community members alerted the police after a foetus was found lying on the grass in a residential yard. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the foetus had sustained head injuries, and its legs and hands had allegedly been eaten by a dog. Reports indicate that the dog had retrieved the foetus from an open field and brought it into the yard. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) confirmed that the foetus was that of a baby boy and declared him deceased. The remains were later transported to the Forensic Pathology Services for further examination. Sebokeng police urge the public to assist in identifying the individual responsible for abandoning the foetus and request anyone with information to contact Sebokeng SAPS or the Crime Stop hotline.
