The DA moves to prevent the multi-million Rand looting of Metsimaholo Municipality.

SASOLBURG - The DA says the Free State High Court granted him an urgent interdict to stop the ANC/EFF to make any further payments towards a R35-million looting scheme, to a trust to which the Metsimaholo Municipality does not owe money. The DA’s Helen Zille says the ANC/EFF thereafter immediately submitted a Motion of No Confidence in the DA Mayor, Mr Jeff Zwane, to bring down the DA minority government in Metsimaholo. The DA issued a lawyer’s letter demanding the ANC Speaker to revoke his notice of the Motion of No Confidence meeting, scheduled for the 1st of August. According to Zille, the entire process embarked upon by the Speaker and unlawful Acting Municipal manager is fatally flawed and any decisions taken under the authority of an unlawfully appointed Municipal Manager, will be illegal. The DA says to drive this point home, he will be leading a picket at the Multipurpose Sports Hall in Zamdela, Sasolburg on Tuesday, August 1st at 12:00, where the Council meeting is scheduled to convene to remove the DA’s Mayor. The DA invited the public to join, in order to prevent the complete collapse of Metsimaholo.
