The cost of cooking oil is expected to decrease

VAAL TRIANGLE - Vaal Triangle and other South African consumers might be able to save a few bucks as the cost of cooking oil is expected to decrease. This is due to a robust canola harvest season. Global vegetable oil inflation rose by 14% in the previous year due to supply disruptions because of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. However, since late 2022, global vegetable oil inflation has been on the decline. Agricultural economist Paul Makube told eNCA this will bring potential relief for strained consumers.
