ORANGE FARM - Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi says there will be heightened security in communities that have been struggling with energy supply, as a result of dire infrastructure, illegal connections, and non-paying customers. These include, Orange Farm in the Vaal Triangle, Soweto and Kagiso. The provincial government launched the transformer replacement programme yesterday, which aims to install new transformers in disadvantaged communities. Lesufi promised to install 41 electricity transformers over the next three weeks in Kagiso, west of Johannesburg. He has urged residents not to damage or steal the new transformers.
