SEBOKENG - A Sebokeng woman, Dimakatso Mofokeng, has died of an unnatural cause after enduring months of raw sewage flooding her home. Her death occurred just days after Emfuleni Local Municipality workers allegedly demanded a R300 bribe to fix the ongoing sewage issue. Despite repeated service delivery complaints, the situation reportedly remained unresolved. Mofokeng had been living in unsanitary and hazardous conditions, which posed a serious health risk. Community members and civil society groups are demanding accountability and urgent intervention, saying no citizen should be subjected to life-threatening conditions due to failed service delivery or bribery demands.
