New R370 million shopping mall coming to Meyerton

MEYERTON - Residents of the Vaal Triangle can brace themselves for a news shopping experience. The new Riverstone Mall in Meyerton is set to open in early 2025. The developer Alley Roads says the R370 million development, financed by Rand Merchant Bank, boasts a gross lettable area of 18,000 sqm and will host 53 retail tenants. Anchors include Checkers Fresh-X, Woolworths Food, and Dischem, with other retailers such as Clicks, Truworths, Mr Price, and Pepkor Group. The mall will feature 1,000 parking bays, a food court, and two fast-food drive-thru outlets. Notably, a 1908Kva rooftop solar plant with a 4800Kwh battery backup will ensure operation during load shedding. The project will create 1,200 construction jobs and approximately 250 permanent jobs. A second phase will add 3,000 sqm of motor-related retail. Barry Chapman, CEO of Alley Roads, highlights the mall's role in enhancing retail space in underserved areas, while Loyiso Daka of RMB Real Estate emphasizes the stability and demand for quality retail in these nodes.
