MEYERTON - The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies, in partnership with the State IT Agency, has launched a cyber lab at Meyerton High School in Midvaal. The initiative aims to expand digital access and equip learners with essential technology skills. The cyber lab includes 40 laptops, interactive smart boards, and 24 months of internet connectivity. As a quintile one school, Meyerton High serves communities with historically limited digital access. The facility will provide training in robotics, coding, and digital literacy, preparing students for careers in ICT, engineering, and data sciences. The DCDT emphasizes that digital inclusion is a key priority, and this initiative helps bridge the digital divide. y expanding connectivity in schools, the government aims to ensure all learners are part of South Africa’s digital transformation, fostering economic opportunities in an increasingly technology-driven world.
