Midvaal to switch from Eskom to private electricity provider

MIDVAAL - The Midvaal Municipality is in the process of outsourcing its electricity functions to a private company for twenty years. The decision comes as the National Energy Regulator of South Africa conducts public hearings on Eskom’s application for another electricity tariff hike for next year. Mayor Peter Teixeira told Newzroom Afrika that by leveraging public-private partnerships, they hope to ensure sustainable energy delivery.
